Operation Street Smart

Adult Drug Education

The goal of Operation Street Smart is to provide current and up-to-date narcotics information on trends, terminology, paraphernalia, and physiological effects to those individuals who deal with today's youth on a daily basis.

Reentry Task Force

The Franklin County Reentry Task Force is charged with creating safer neighborhoods and more productive residents by increasing the success rates of ex-offenders transitioning from correctional and rehabilitative institutions back into the community.

Stop Teenage Opportunity to Purchase (STOP)

The Franklin County Stop Teenage Opportunity to Purchase Program is a county wide law enforcement collaborative project, utilizing twenty-six (26) agencies, to reduce the opportunity for juveniles to purchase alcohol.

Supervised Visitation/Safe Exchange

The Supervised Visitation and Exchange Program offers families a comfortable and reassuring atmosphere in which safe, structured, and neutral visitation and safe exchanges can be provided.

Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS) Public Safety Support Programs

Citizen Academy (Adult)

The Public Safety Support Citizen Academy offers former graduates of police and fire academies the opportunity to continue their learning and practical experience by participating in an enhanced Public Safety Support Citizen Academy. Graduates of the Public Safety Support Citizen Academy will be called upon to provide support during times of emergencies or natural disasters as well as volunteer during special and routine events.

Explorer Program (Youth)

The Public Safety Support Explorer Program offers opportunities in character building, leadership, homeland security, police and fire response, and emergency response and preparedness. Youth, ages 14 to 21, will be exposed to a range of public safety career options while gaining practical "hands-on" experience upon graduation from the eight-week training program. Completion of training will prepare participants to provide support to public safety forces during disasters as well as volunteer opportunities during special and routine events.
