Justice Grants

Justice Assistance Grant (JAG)

The Office of Justice Policy and Programs is the fiduciary agent and grant administrator for the County's major federal funding for law enforcement, prosecution, crime prevention and education, and technology improvement through the Byrne Justice Assistance Grant (or JAG). For FY2017, we anticipate an award of $465,786 with an administrative allowance of 10%. This represents a 4.6% decrease from our JAG award in FY2016.

Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (JJDP)

Title II

The Office of Justice Policy and Programs administers the Title II Juvenile Justice funds that reduce delinquent behaviors in minority youth, reduce minority youth arrests, and/or reduce disparity in the juvenile justice system. Through our advocacy, we have successfully convinced the Ohio Department of Youth Services, the granting agency, to include LGBTQ youth as eligible for these funds for the first time. Our FY2017 Title II award is expected to be $110,000 with an administrative allowance of 9%. This represents an 8.3% decrease from our award in FY2016.

Franklin County has released a request for proposals for the FY 2017 Title II Juvenile Justice and Deliquency Prevention Grant Program. Applications are due by 5:00 PM on January 31, 2018.

Violence Against Women

The Office of Justice Policy and Programs is the fiduciary agent and grant administrator for the County's Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) funds which is intended to improve response and to enhance services for victims of domestic and sex crimes by law enforcement, prosecution, victim services organizations, and the courts. For FY2017, we anticipate an award of $576,044 with an administrative allowance of 3%. This represents a 2.6% increase from our VAWA award in FY2016.
